This stuff looks good, but how hard is it to get an even finish.

Pretty easy, more so than normal spray paint anyway. You need to try and do a whole panel / object at a time and keep the can moving with an even pass over the surface. Usually the more layers / thicker you do it the better it looks. It can look a bit rubbish until it dries because as it does so it levels itself out to some extent. If it does not come out quite right just peel off and try again, no surface prep needed.

Don't think it will last long in that place. 1 scratch, and you need to peel it all off, and redo it.

that would involve me a) knowing how hot the exhaust gets and b.) having read all the small details of the product.

Just noticed they do it in clear. Might be good along the bottom edge of the front clam to protect a little bit from stone chips.

I was thinking this and I wonder how easy it would be to feather it so you dont get the armourfend edge that gathers dirt. Is it gloss clear or satin clear though?

I bought 2 cans and attempted to spray my hard top in Matt Black. Three hours later I was peeling it off. Utter rubbish. It either went shiny in places, or a weird textured Matt black with little bobbles of rubber on the surface, really wasn't impressed. Also I noticed that any dirt not 100% black in colour turned out like chalke on a blackboard and was a real pain to clean off without damaging the surface. Like I say, it lasted 3 hours before pulling it off

So using the matt clear you can effectively make any colour matt anyway right?

You can put this on the top to gloss it up :)
