IMO trailbraking is an essential part of track driving. I use std discs and RC5+ pads and trail brake all the time and have never had any issues with discs. If the discs can't handle the heat I'd say the product is not fit for purpose.
Agree ... but still

I am not sure that was on there before, had I seen that, I defo wouldnt have bought
are they drilled discs? if so just get plain discs, as most drilled items are drilled AFTER casting which leads to cracking.... if they were cast in 'drillings' then they will be much less susceptible to cracking but mega cash.
Yes, drilled and grooved:

Same from me.... standard discs and mintex and have got them hot enough on track to cause lots of little micro cracks in the surface of the dics... doesn't seem to be a problem tho, will just change them when I change pads
Lemme get this right, with the cracks you are still using the discs?

If you are racing the car or have more than 190 bhp we advise the use of our AP discs and bells

That's been there for as long as I can remember, certainly 3 years. I'm running those bells and rotors on the rear of my car and have had no problems (as you'd expect on the rear) but run the AP 295mm bells and rotors on the front. Had no problem with those either, even when I absolutely cooked them with sh!tty YellowTurd pads at Bedford a couple of years back.

At this stage that would mean another eye-watering £ 1000 to replace these discs. But I

You haven't stated whether the cracks radiate out from the drillings or are not connected to them.
Porsche permit cracks of 8mm from the drillings before they recommend changing.
Dunno, havent seem them yet. Will report back later. Tnx for the benchmark of 8mm ... even if it comes from P
