Hi All
Just wondered if anybody had used toyo proxes 4 (195 45 R17) over the standard Bridgestones and what they thought of them. I have had them before and found them to be pretty good but they were on a hot hatch so not comparable.
Also looking to track the car a few times this year and wondered if they will cope as the sidewalls are said to be quite soft.
Thanks
James

I've got a set of these waiting to go on, one benefit is that the rolling radius is smaller so getting closer to the more performance biased Lotus set-up with the 16 inch rim up front whilst still keeping the OEM look.
I was told by Sportomotive (a Lotus specialist in Salisbury) that they usually recommend Toyo tyres (though not the Proxes 4 specifically) to the Lotus owners over their standard Bridgestones as they don't rate the standard tyres at all, though perhaps there is a difference in the composition or compound of the Elise tyre over the VX220 for the Bridgestones (though I doubt it, I don't think Lotus would select an inferior tyre and let the VX220 get away with having a superior one as standard).
My car is going for a geo this week hopefully so will be able to review them better then.
As a disclaimer, I've only owned the VX220 for 6 months and it's been sleeping in a garage for most of that so don't take my word as gospel.

I'm sure others have used these before with no problem, possibly gbobm and vx220nelly?
