Can anyone recomend somewhere to get a decent alternate gear knob for the VX? I've bought 2 so far on ebay and both wouldn't fit properly. Most nowadays come with plastic sleaves and small screws but the sleeves are all too small and the screws are so pathetic they don't grip the gear stick and then get sheared by the allen key so you can't tighten them anymore!! Ta!

Momo Race, matches the standard steering wheel too. halfords were selling them off cheap but that was a while ago.

Mine has got the momo race gear knob. Last owner thought it was an optional extra? But it is so much nicer to use than the OEM one.

It wasn't an optional extra but was generally accepted as the best non-chav replacement for the OEM. IIRC, most came from Ebay or Halfords.

I've got one of those with the gear pattern on the top. Feel free to have a nosey round my wagon at the next meet.

Sounds good. I'll have a nosey on the Peak meet if you're on it.

Sparco Settanta for me, I prefer the feel of a more angular one rather than that of a chunkier round shape one and the colour and style all tied in with what I was after.

How about a reverie one? I've got one that I had made to fit my clio v6 (lift up reverse) but was hoping I could alter it to fit the Vx http://www.reverie.l...group=A MGR S2C

Hate all carbon or all metal gear knobs. Just don't like the feel of them. I removed the dealer option billet gearknob on mine, to fit the more comfortable (especially in the sun) Momo air. I couldn't deal with the angular shape of DoO's either as I prefer something that sits more comfortably in the palm. Like exhaust noise, it's personal.

Yep, it's an acquired taste for sure, personally I don't like having a large hand full as it seems to reduce the feel and accuracy of shifts. I actually ran with no knob on at all for a short spell and quite liked the feel of just palming the stick into gear.

I quite like the look of this.

I think Tom220 has this one in silver.
