I had no problems with the 225/45/17 on the TD's , just the 235/40 would not go on. But I will be fitting them on my new 9J TD's. Also will fit these on the Porsche as the snow tyres are about done.

Steve, what are these like compared to 888's? I'm going to need new rubber before Spa and they look pretty good value.

So them two tyre sizes will fit a normel set of TD's no problem? Whats was the issue before with them not fitting?

i agree the fz201 are great race tyre, although i think you would only manage a few 1000 miles use as the compounds you can choose are soft

I have found that Federal are always a bit wider than most other makes. 205 are more like others 215 etc.

So 205 is still OK on TDs or you recommend going 195?

I'm sure they'll be fine. Both 205 and 195 are recommended for 6.5 to 7.5 widths. In the evos though they don't even do the 195 in RS-R http://www.federalty...ormance/595rs-r http://www.federalty...formance/595evo

They just seem a lot wider than other makes of tyre.

The same thing within the same brand. R888's on the left and T1R's on the right. Both with 2 off 195/50 16's and 2 off 225/45 17's.

I think this will be my third winter running on them, and these past mornings when there has been frost its amazing how quick they switch on, plus much better in the wet than R888. I can't even say they wear out fast, because I run a very aggressive geo with a lot of scrub and they are good.
