Thanks VXT Tim - the description in there is exactly what I have. Pads, discs and fluid are all new so will start with spring and bush/cable tie.
One post suggests fluid could be an issue but don't see how this could cause this - incidentally didn't do it before the brakes were changed - however today has been warmer and the old brakes perhaps didn't generate much heat.....but seems unlikely
Thanks for the link
Cheers

Do you mean the brake pedal is not coming fully back in the up right position or just that the brake pads are rubbing? If the former check the linkages in the pivot mechanism in the footwell, can you lift the pedal upwards to return it once you have taken your foot off?
If you just mean the brakes themselves you probably just need to give it a few miles for the pads to contour to the discs slightly if everything put on was new as they rarely run perfectly true.

It's the pedal not returning back up - yes I can lift the pedal back up (with my foot) to return it. It is only stuck on by about 5mm or so, but the brakes effectively stick on.
Will try the spring first, shortening by a couple of coils and check the bush and linkage.
Thanks for the info.

The cable ties are still in place so next will be a shortened brake pedal return spring.
The part number is 9197817 so hoping that I can get a couple of spares from vauxhall - online cant seem to find stock!
Anyone else have any other suggestions - perhaps sticking pads to discs....? They are all brand new......
Only happened on the way home once brake temp was well up....?
Thanks

Been out twice this week in mine in warm weather (when it appeared to happen most) and nothing.
Shortening my spring has 100% solved my issue.
I would bet (hope) you'll have the same outcome
Tim
How did you shorten it? The spring has the hook on either end and then folds back across the coils - effectively across the diameter of the coil (if that makes sense). That prevented me winding a couple coils down the spring (or perhaps I was just a little impatient?
I will try and get a spare first so I can "fiddle" with the existing one - but what a pain it is working down there - I've been down there twice and it's like working in a straight jacket.....!
