You can pick holes in nearly every sentence on the Mirror reports and every other website. Oh and what happened to the Clio cup too ?

From BTCC.NET

Thorney plans Clio expansion

In addition to a planned two-car entry in 2012’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, the Thorney Motorsport team looks set to also field a junior squad in the supporting Renault Clio Cup.
The Milton Keynes-based outfit intends running two Vauxhall Insignias built to the BTCC’s latest Next Generation Touring Car regulations – its first car made a brief appearance during last month’s season finale at Silverstone (pictured). Work on a second is already well under way.
Team principal John Thorne today also confirmed plans to enter three cars in next year’s BTCC-supporting Clio Cup with the added incentive for drivers of an end-of-season test in his NGTC Insignia.
Thorne’s vision is clearly to develop a ‘staircase of talent’ with his Clio Cup drivers then graduating into the BTCC in his cars.
He commented: “The Clio Cup is the best single-make, front-wheel-drive championship in the UK and every driver in it wants to graduate to the BTCC – as a team we can make that happen.
“Next year is looking pretty exciting for us. Development of the Insignia is going well and this expansion into the Clio Cup allows us to nurture drivers and give them a head's start in the BTCC at the same time.”

I don't know how true it is but mr Thorne did tell me it costs all together 10k to test the car for 1 day

It can do, but if you are really desperate for testing chuck the car in a trailer and take it to a test day for £400

This made me laugh:
“It’s been a dream of mine as a schoolboy to race in the BTCC and to get a seat with such an established team as Thorney Motorsport running in a full NGTC car is way beyond my expectations.”

Think you missed the best quote from there!

They may be new to the BTCC this season but take it from me, if you can run a successful endurance race team, the BTCC is not going to cause them any issues!”

Not really going about attracting sponsor the right way by publicly slating Swindon. Perhaps he will have to send himself a letter on that one

JT is good he has designed a freewheeling rear axle that out performs the the powered front end no wonder he is blaming the engine supplier
