Good morning all! Anyone here have any experience of the quicker ratio steering racks (the ones at 2.4 or 2.5 turns lock to lock)? Will it make my steering seem ever more alive (one of my favourite things about the VX)? or Would it make the thing twitchy and entirely undrivable on a motor way blat? Can the OEM be refurbed and uprated in this way? Interested in your collective opinions. Cheers Steve

Our local lotus garage can build in the elise rack in our speedsters. Not sure what type is used, but its closer ratio then oem.

FULLY recommend a quick rack, its what the original design was and other than a slightly heavier steering parking (on track rubber) its better in every way. Fine on the motorway just get used to a little less imput DG

I've had the Titan quick rack for about 4 years. Felt slightly odd at first as you got a bit more steering angle for any given input but got uses to it on my first trackday with it. Definitely makes tight radius corners easier. Only drawback is slightly more effort at parking speeds. It's all very subtle. Titan apparently won't rebuild original racks as quick racks anymore although they will sell you the quick pinion if you want to DIY. They will sell you a quick rack outright though.

That's interesting, when I spoke to titan last year they were adamant that they had never re-built standard racks to a quick rack because the pinions weren’t interchangeable from their quick rack :beat: this was of course moments before offering me a new one

Might have to give them another call.

the turbo ones are different to the NA , which as I understand could be rebuilt as a quick rack.

Cheers all. I worry about ruining the feel of the car by adding track nonsense (that won't ever see a track).... but if these are better for everyday use, I'll start to save the pennies. I even like the idea of having a steering rack by "Titan".... sounds epic. Many thanks Steve

Can anyone confirm if Titan do or do not offer the refurb quick rack option anymore?

They'll refurb an existing quick rack but wont convert a normal rack to a quick one.

I think they've stopped offering refurbs in the last 12 months. Just hearsay so might not be entirely correct.

BTW, quick rack from elise-shop is £313
