Joe will be able to reconnect his original engine breather system ........ once he fits the LSJ ecu
Joe, can I have all those parts back then, they were expensive!

James, imagine blowing through straw and then blowing through a hose pipe, what's going to be easier?
resistance overall
I'm still not entirely sure i understand why it needs to be bigger, Is it to reduce flow rate?
but that still doesn't make much sense to me. its open, there is no resistance.

I understand that, but are the presures in there really high enough. They must be since everyone is going to some effort to make the breathers bigger, it just seem strange to me.
It's got to be worth a try as I'm fed up with the oil venting back through my air filter and spraying the front of the engine bay every single trackday. I'm actually retaining the original vent as well and running this to a separate filter.

Mine pokes out of the diffuser and i've never seen a drop or even a hint of any oil.
Same as that. Never a drop of anything out of it and I've got a joiner in the hose about 18 inches from the cam cover and I frequently split it there to check.

All of that said, when I do the "LSJ" conversion, I'll be running the proper PCV system. That's one of the reasons I'm doing it along with the more accessible ECU and getting away from using shitty Wiseco pistons.

the standard cam cover breather fitting is roughly 8mm internal diameter, I replaced that with a 15mm internal diameter fitting and now don't have the breather problems
As prescribed in GM's Ecotec build book. => "A minimum of -12 hose is recommended".
See the LSJ's valve cover op page 39 with the enlarged breather hose connection.

So, is extending to the diffuser area ok or not a good idea? I believe Cliffie had done it and no problems mentioned.
My car has been like that since the day Courtenay's did the original conversion (though I've modified exactly where it pops out). No problems here after 20k odd miles and dozens of trackdays.

Depends on the bore. Makes no odds on the length as long as there are no kinks or restrictions.
Mine as is Nick's runs over the subframe and out of the rear clam behind the rear wheel.
