A bit longer wheelbase VX is lurking in my mind for some time now, as I feel that this would give a more stable car on speed/track, especially with high power & wide wheels. Simply space out the rear subframe with a thick spacerplate and fab some new lower wishbone front mounts. (and off course mod the rear clam)
This would also give some more space for a proper SC inlet manifold and possible tilting the engine forward for better weight distribution.

But blimey somebody copied my thoughts :ninja: :

"After adding the 6"s, the chassis could finally 'hook up' & get traction out of the corners, especially after the turbo was added... before that it was always trying to swap ends & felt really nervous. Now we managed to gain 4 sec's or so per lap... & finally have the confidence to turn up a little more boost.."

So who's first to do this on a VX?

Missed opportunity. Should have stuck a longitudinal V8 in there instead of a blown I4 to make the most of that space.

Did you see that other "Mad Max project"?
" stretched Elise with a custom rear subframe, a triple rotor 20B turbo with an Albins rear transaxle & air shifter..." :ninja:
The video with that air shifter is nice too.
