Are these the same as VXR abs modules or a better version?

There are only 2 models.
vx220 2 channel, and vxr/elise/exige 4 channel.

And what would happen if we got 20 (or 21 as groups of three!)

to be honest i think we;re pretty close to what Lotus charge for them. Lotus won't sell direct so this is as good as it gets. I've tried others, all were more.

Also 12 on a list, probably means 10 in reality. Priorities always change over the course of a GB.

Is it only Lotus dealers who can activate them?

Had an issue with the brakes on my VXR when it was still under warranty, local Vauxhall dealer had the car for 2 weeks, whilst they were sent a 'Lotus' Tech2 that could speak to my ABS. They had to send it back afterwards, so I would imagine only Lotus dealers

I think with the swapping that can be done without battery unplug, coding a dozen units can be done very quick. Only 4 screws for the original ecu, and change the connector to each unit, while the tech2 runs the same command over and over. In my book, that's 30 min tops. Break down the costs over 12 units, and it's probably a tenner for each extra.

As I remember the units used in a European GB were sent precoded. If this were possible I would be interested.

I bought my VX from Christopher Neil's albeit many years ago, not too far away either, so they could use my car to code them all? Might be worth a phone call to them JG as I reckon it will be a plus for the majority of buyers to pay extra for a coded unit rather than fanny about getting it done themselves. You would also like to think it would work out cheaper too, as Robin says above. Oh, and put me down for one too

Sounds like we need to try and sort a 'coded' deal JG. Would certainly sweeten it for me as well.

With a 'coded' unit guys when you instal it the ABS light will be permanent on until you drive the car literally 20 meters and the wheel sensors calibrate to it thumbsup This *may* save you doing what I did which was swapping back and forth to the 2 channel unit wondering why the light wouldn't go out!! :)

Thats the problem with sending them out 'coded', some of the second hand ones, sometimes need recoding. I think the best way is to get the coded to each car, that way you can be sure it works.
