So, getting my diffuser celibacy tomorrow and wondered how to fit the thing, have done a search and found TAT diffuser fitting guide, so is the MMG going to be the same? Are there any special tools needed, as I only have basic tool kit, and i am assuming you have to have the car up on ramps, it can't be done on a jack, or nothing at all !? Anyone that's fitted one, that could give me some directions would be appreciated. cheers

Really easy mate, even i can do it  I did mine with just one side up on a jack. If its the same fitting as the chrisvx220 diffuser then it will just use the same fittings as the standard rear undertray that it replaces.

I did mine flat on the ground but there wasn't much space. Just remove the one tray you are replacing, slot the bit closest to the seats in an then affix the two larger bolts. The fit all the other smaller bolts. The ones that go into the met bar are fiddly but not impossible. To fit the spacers, I wrapped black insulation tape around the two spacers that go together to keep them together and then added the tape to the others as you can't see them then. Should be pretty straight forward when you get the old one off. Will be easier if you jack it up/park over a kerb though.

So, looking at the diffuser now in the metal, It has a bar along the back, with 5 screws in place, do I unscrew and take off the bar, and does this sit in the middle undertray section, so I screw them back in through that?

That bar, if its the same as mine sits at the back of the clam. So it goes: ----Bar ----Clam ----Diffuser It's a bit fiddly but I just put the middle screw in first and do the rest afterwards.

Is the bar you speak of "L" shaped? If so it goes inside the clam to spread the load of the diffuser. Take the C clips off of the old undertray you're replacing and put them on the bar, then the bolts go in from the diffuser and screw into the C clip thingys thumbsup Edit: C clip = Spire clip

Might be a different bar to mine as mine was made last summer. It still does the same job though, it goes inside the clam to support it thumbsup

So at last managed to fit the diffuser after passing the mot this afternoon. Really crazy, the mot tester said I would pass as long as the switches for the lights were labelled correctly, so not really having time to take off the fronts of the new switches I wrote on a post it note and tapped it to the fronts, this PASSED! Crazy Then spent about 2 hours with my dad fitting the diffuser, was very fiddly, didn't realised need an Alan key for the centre screws, but luckily had the exact match, Shame there aren't the same amount of rear holes as on the OE rear tray, so the oil inspection hatch has my one screw holding it, although its flush and nice and tight. Final result, very very impressed, very good build quality, and combined with my new compomotive mo in satin black and sticky toyo r888's the vx has never looked better! Next is to get the turbo spoiler painted and fitted, then onto the crazy works of super charging!!!! :)

Just fitting my mmg diffuser, pretty much done now, secured the 5 front bolts and two big Allen key bolts. Also secured the rear support bars but I'm now very confused as to what the mud guards secure to now the old tray is removed?? Tia

They don't secure to anything. I left mine and after 3-4 track days, a few hill climbs and a 2.5k mile trip to France they are still there.

Ok thanks, I got it all done, looks good. Not very rigid in the middle as i only had 2 securing bars, I bolted them to the exhaust bracket mounts. bit surprised it doesn't come with a long strut that could run the whole length of the diffuser that secures on to those securing bars.

Overall it's strong and looks great IMO! The car looks just how i want it now! :)
