We're as close to a democracy if you want to use the term...

Technically, I believe this site is a "Benevolent Dictatorship".

My 2p: Like Cliffie I am way too busy and don't have the required knowledge to take even a very minor role in running a site like this. The way I see it is somebody pay money for the site, and has paid to run it for several years, and from the outside looking in done their utmost to keep it all as free as possible. To turn around and suggest that the site is sold to its users in a democratic fashion is quite disengenuous and undermines a lot of the hard work and money that has gone in to it. In addition the forum has been running well but for a few minor hiccoughs, and now there is an optional way to lend support to keep it that way. To hand it over to members feels like unnecessarily rocking the boat.

running a forum requires a somewhat fascist approach.... The users (like the general pube lick) are morons when it comes to making 'decisions' (I mean just how many sodding forum changing discussion take place  ) 'you' the mod/admin team make the choices and take any flack.... the flack from doing that is FAR FAR FAR FAR less than the flack and grief of putting things to the users (be they paid up members or freeloaders ). I do talk a lot of shittte (hell of a lot) but I do know about trying to keep a forum/club alive and you have to be a bit of a bastard at times but its less hassle in the long run.

I can't work out how to pay without a Gaypal account, mine got hacked so I'm not going to reinstate my account? Is there a counter of Premium members?

Think PayPal is the only option but you can make a one time payment with a debit card via PayPal without creating an account.

Sort of. 87 at last count.

 SebF has been begging for Tapatalk all afternoon (although it seems to work fine on the twatphone I tried it on earlier other than a message to upgrade to a newer version). Free to install at our end, it's you guys that pay for it. Up to Will to yes/no it.

Yeah, guess Seb was trying from Android as well but I haven't got it installed on any of my Android devices. WillT doesn't hugely like it as even browsing the site through a regular mobile browser, Tapatalk pops up a prompt for you to download and install the app. Though I have a feeling the IP Board app does the same as well.

As a user it's night and day nicer than any mobile skin though.

Can't say it bothers me one way or the other. On balance I probably prefer the mobile skin or more often the full desktop skin and not having to mess with another app outside the browser.

It's more the benefit of being able to keep all of the forums I browse through one central app, no messing around in web addresses, just select the forum and go.

I swear seb is just pm'ing people and making them ask for this! Screw it, public vote it and we'll go with the masses. Personally I don't want it, but if the majority do I'm happy with it. Its one of those it makes no real difference so just go with the masses :) Vote it Seb ;)
