Ah, missed that, thankyou gentlemen. But, couldn't the mounting brackets be incorporated in the moulding process so would become an integral part of the skin? With a layer or two to reinforce the area. (Rather than bonding on afterwards, which I agree could be a problem)

The airintake finish to cool the engine, the driver or it is for the airfilter? It is possible to see it from inside?

Intake is into engine bay, use it for what you like.

You can post a foto from inside? I want to split the air, half for cooling and the other half for the airfilter which in my case is in the boot. I'm interested, but i don't find any price!?

Too early for costings yet. We do not know yet if we will be able to get the moulds or of we have to make new ones but we'll post up the financials as soon as they are known :)

I'm confused, the forum has the opportunity to purchase the moulds at a price (said to be very high) As a result of this high price a limited run of 10 only? Which.... well, would ensure the price for each was very very high... which defeats the object. Let's hope Jonny gets his hands on this and sells to all, otherwise they'll never make their way out of the MK postcode.:(

Well I'm the one trying to buy the moulds and I live in South Wales. I want to keep numbers limited as I am going to be going to considerable lengths to make this viable for myself and a few others. As payback for the effort I'd like to keep the modification quite rare. If I were to mass produce then it would cheapen what I am trying to achieve both for myself and the others who wish to purchase and as I'm putting in the effort I think It's fair to be of this frame of mind. You're welcome to be one of the people who would buy should this come off, but to be honest it's probably never going to happen.

Fair enough, if it's you putting all the effort and time into this then your quite right, you should seek the best return for the outlay Personally, I'd say 10 examples is FAR to low. With 4-5 thousand VXs on the road in the UK alone and 10-15k in Europe, even if you made 50 examples this would be an ultra ultra rare and sort after mod: 50 x £1k is worth more in your back pocket than 10x £2.5k. Just my 2p

Maybe you're right, maybe we could consider more but we're still not fully aware of costs.... I just want a coupe back :)

given that there were only 9.5k made of both, those numbers are probably a bit high.

Either way, the market is tiny. i would aim for a small run.

Pretty sure there's not 8k in there, let alone 9.5k. ;) I thought the story was GM had agreed 9.5k of them to be built and then cancelled the deal at 8k as they were such a flop.

My research suggested there are about 2.5k VXs in this country and about 5k on the continent. As regards the coupe back its up to JJJ what to do of course. I would suggest there is so much work involved in converting it to road use that it may even be worth starting from scratch. If you get the molds I would probably consider maybe finessing the existing single skin design and selling them to people that race them as there are more and more people using VXs as race cars these days. I do intend to do a coupe conversion at some point but if its done in the next year I would be very surprised. I dont even have a base car yet. I do have the facilities/expertise between me and the 3 GRP companies that do work for me to do something with these molds if JJJ wanted a hand with it. A lot will depend on what the molds are like. If they arent flanged up you wont even get 10 products out of them before they are scrap. I dont know if anyone knows the origin of them and if "mass" production was ever the intention. If they arent flanged up you are counting your blessings every time you get even one product out of it. If they have been sat around a while and dont have flanges/supports on them the parts wont fit now anyway due to warping of the molds more than likely. Anyway I'm not about to go treading on toes but I'm here if you need any pointers or help guys.
