Hi Guys, I drive down to the station every morning and leave the car outside my Mum's house, and it's started annoying the neighbourhood because the alarm keeps on going off. I understand problems with the alarm are pretty common on our cars. At first I thought it was the weather triggering it, but on the less windy and wet days over the last month it has been doing the same thing. The only other thing I can think of is that it is parked on a heavily cambered road during the day, but doesn't as far as I'm aware go off during the night when it's parked in a flat garage. Anyway, the first step has got to be turning down the sensitivity. Can anyone direct me to the sensor please? Previous threads mention it being behind the seats, is it a bit of a mission to reach? Tah!

Wireless doorbell interference, possibly.

Door bell setting it off? My next door neighbours bell sets mine off. To get to the box your talking about you remove pax seat, speakers then the shelf and its stuck to the back of it.

If you want to adjust the microwave sensor, you'll need to remove one of the seats and the black plastic parcel shelf and the sensor is stuck to the rear of that.

Just park it 30 feet further. It will probably be gone.

If it is down to wireless door bells, a replacement "brain" will sort it. Search the forum for Abacus Car Alarms.

you can try setting the alarm with out the microwave sensor by when you set it holding the fob button until the lights flash 3 times

Cheers for that, the doorbell explanation makes sense so I'll have to give parking a bit down the road a go!

I had the same problem with mine at our previous house, the car alarm going off when someone rung the door bell (car parked right next tot the door) was a great way of getting rid of cold callers but I had to give in and get it sorted when the neighbours door bell across the road started setting it off. I ordered an exhange unit from Abacus and replaced mine, this involves taking the dash off but that is pretty straightforward. Not had any problems with it since.

Duncan

When you say 'exchange' do you mean the reprogramming scheme they do (£99ish) or did you get a brand new item sent out (£250)?

Many thanks.

Rob
