Signed up for premium access this morning, still getting ads and not able to access to the restricted forum - both of which indicate that I am not a premium member.... How long does it take for the membership to be activated?

Did you pay by Paypal? If so was it an instant payment or an echeque. A Paypal echeque wont clear for 7 days so affecting premium access

It was a paypal payment from my bank account which is effectively a DD. It is however backed up by my credit card if the DD failed (which it wont). I pay exactly the same way for other items (eg forum purchases and ebay sales) and the funds are immediately transferred, so if my access should have been granted immediately, it hasn't. :(

It says I have sent an automatic payment (which is a 12 monthly recurring payment). It doesnt mention echeque. Neither was I given any option as to instant payment, echeque or recurring payment when I made the payment (as far as I know).

Mine was instant. Did you opt to pay in 36 easy payments @ 3,490% paydayloans.com?

So, who is a member of the Administrative Team referred to in the subscriptions tab who should be able to sort this?

I'm reading again now. As far as I know, it's all automatic, assuming everything ties up username/email wise. Nothing we can do though, as only WillT can trace the payment through PayPal. Drop him a note with the PayPal email address you sent the payment from and he'll sort it out. I wouldn't stress about missing anything in the private forum though.

Unless it's tongue in cheek, from the thread in the For Sale Forum,Silent Steve is having the same problem - ie still getting the ads.

Personally not bothered for the restricted area, just want rid of the ads - sick of having hot dates from Vietnam waved under my nose!
