I'm opening up the rear clam with vents for extra cooling purposes, what's the opinion on the heat shielding round the exhaust, leave it as it is or partially/completely remove to allow the heat to escape?
Bends are heat wrapped as you can see.

Suspect completely removing would still cause clam issues in parts, so if I remove just sections of the heat shield would this be the way forward?

Weelybro has removed the whole heatshield box and replaced the top section with a sheet of Nimbus over the top to protect the boot I think. There are pics in his build thread here

There's an oem shield on a tubby that protects the boot floor, that will remain, it's the Nimbus type stuff surrounding the silencer that I'm not sure whether it will be better to partially retain? thumbsup

Get some VHT black and leave it. You could drill/punch some holes if you want to vent some heat.

I'd remove it - you want the heat to escape not be stored up in it!

There is no heat shielding when the Exige has a rear panel removed

I have some nimbus if you need it. However i think I would keep the box just cut the side off that faces the vents :)
