Well, just got in from what was the scariest drive since I drove home in a hurry on an R1 Today I decided after getting my car polished I would fit the stage 4 ecu ive been sitting on for a few weeks, after fitting the injectors, fannying around with the Ecu and chip n ring I pressed start and vrooom she went, warmed up the engine while chatting to my mate, he decided to come along for a spin. OMG the difference is immense, I was physically shaking within 2 miles, my mate went very quiet, the power comes in so raw like it's frightening, how Nev gets on with his is beyond me, he must be a god!! I can't imagine getting used to this sort of power, going to book it in tomorrow to be checked on the RR, then I'm getting the wheels properly aligned. After that the brakes, poor as they normally are now seem so much worse, they really should be done before you tune to this level. One final thing, Thanks zoobeef, hopefully I can get to a meet sometime and you can see your car as it was going to be thumbsup

Would a stage 4 tubby be as quick as a stage 3 supercharged or about the same. Since having my stage 3 ive got use to it and it don't feel as quick now. so wondering if its because its a turbo its feels more brutal then a sc one.

Imagine a SC would be nicer to drive? The exhaust note is different now, sounds like the exhaust is made of thinner metal too. Really raw.

stage 2 turbos 'feel' faster than stage 2 or 3 SC, because of their nasty power spikes and higher torque output.

It'd be interesting to see what the figures are on the rr. I would class mine a stage 4 or thereabouts but still think an R1 would have me for brekkie. I once had an Escort Cossie which weighed much more than the vx but had around 575 brake and R1's would'nt worry me. Saying that tho, the vx is a much nicer drive and i love a powerfull lightweight much more. Just wish i had a few more quid to throw at it coz the ingredients are there.

R1s have changed over the years! One just did a 7m 10s of the Nordschleife, I'd like to see an Escort Cosworth do that

R1 in a straight line but not off or into any bends, you just can't get the power down on a bike like you can on a windy road in a vx, or perhaps it was just me?? Will get a dyno printout in a few days :)
