No good comparing peak figures. If you want to find how a car goes in a gear, work out the area under the torque graph. Of course you may only use a "band" of that, in which case look at the area under that part of the curve. - If its a narrow band you'll have to row the gearbox a lot more though.
No good comparing jack sh*t when you have a few high power VXs that can't keep up with a less than standard na as they have the wrong tyres on for the damp

Seems we need to see a SC and Turbo of same spec side by side to settle the debate

Im willing to have a side by side if there is any turbo lads wanting to. Just need to find somewhere safe to do it.
Is the A1 good enough

Lol. Yours does drive very well Mr Hand...if it was damp I'd have no chance!
I've chased a 300hp SC down a track straight. There was nothing in it. (262bhp/306lbft)
Anyones guess what gears we were in etc.... bring on the drag races!
Ha Ha what you mean is I just need another 100 bhp

The drag race !!! now that I would like to see.
I thought someone (was it Luke) was talking about doing something like this a while back.
I know straight line stuff is not for me or VX s but would be interesting and good to watch
Then can we do twisty's in the pissing rain

SteveA and me did at Anglesey last year and there was nothing in it at all, him in a tubby, me in the SC.
Where the extra torque kicks in is the in-gear accelleration where the extra 110 lbft in the tubby just comes into its own.

It seems a lot extra 110 lbft , you would think that would let the Turbo pull away all other thing being equal.
