I know it is possible, from viewing "Wheeler Dealers" on cable tv here in the States, to bring a US car into GB. Is it possible, and with what degree of difficulty, is it to export a VX220 or Speedster to the U.S.? I know that I'll have to get it past ICE when it arrives, but I know people who've done that before (you post a bond and promise to "Federalize" the vehicle) and they let it in. Also does anyone know of any VX220 or Speedsters being exported to Mexico or Canada?

Seem to remember that the USA was a closed door. There is meant to be one out there, but no-one seemed able to figure how they had managed it. No offence to the OP, but what the fcuk is going on? This must be the third 'export questions' thread this week. At this rate, when I can eventually get enough pennies together, when I come buy another there will be none left in the UK :(

Yep... I seem to remember there was talk of some technicality with the VX that nullified it from entering the US

I completely agree. Having thought about it some more I thinkit was an emission issue, which again seems even more ridiculous given that the engine is a GM product.

Masses of info on Skyline Owners. Basically if you live in Florida you can do it, or if you remake the car, compliant with usa's rediculous laws and assign it a new vin number. - Not practical. Move to Florida then.

Are you rebuilding a 211 at the moment? One way of doing it might be to get the panels and some parts and stick the body on an Elise chassis. Not sure on how easily the parts would get past the authorities but if you are the chap that's doing the 211 build at the moment i think it might make for a relatively easy project.

Hello Ronin and welcome to the forum. I hope that you find the car you are looking for and manage to find the right way to import it. Best regards and kind wishes from this side of the pond... ..icey :grouphug:

Oh i see (i knew the name rang a bell from the past)...

But then it's nice to be nice. I think it adds more to my being than it takes away, so is a win/win. I remember a while back there was a poster who said he had run into the back of a refuse lorry in his works van, the general consensus was that he was making it up and just after sympathy but regardless, sympathy i gave him. It may have been that he had just split with his girlfriend, a family member had died or that he was just having a bad time and needed some sympathy, it made me feel good by offering it anyway, the niceties in life cost little but give a lot (i know i know, i'm a strange one lol)

...icey
