Think I'm getting fuel starvation so going about putting together a shopping list for a nice swirl pot solution.

JG and Cliffie's new fuel lines have caught my eye and the Sytec fuel filter are also going in so that the whole system is getting a once over, I'm still considering the Pro Alloy tank, but cash will probably rule that out.....

I see that some of the Swirl Pot tanks come with only 3 inlet/outlets...... I'm assuming that these just feed the fuel return from the engine directly back to the fuel tank. If anybody has opinions about whether thats as efficient as bringing the fuel return from engine back the swirl first please let me know.

I kind of like this swirl pot presently but I'm struggling where to fit it....

Also I'm going to need a pump. Lee you mentioned a Bosch pump that does the trick, got a link for one or some more info on the model...?

Bosch 044 is the most readily available one. The diagram you have is the best way to do it but you could tee in the rail return into the low pressure lines to make do with 3 inlets. You could just weld some more on though.

I think your problem is fuel Jimmy and we need to put some thought into a proper JIC fittting system from tank to rail.
Rally is the expert, i'm a budding amateur, but i can construct lines now :D and i have lots of fitting to play with. Next stop for me is a bulkhead fitting design.

Aeromotive do some nice, cleanable filters. Expensive but good. With the space issue I wonder if you could get a bespoke swirl pot that uses an in-tank 044 pump mounted in it. Just an idea like.

Lee took the charcoal filter off on his car and mounted his there so that could be an idea, Anyone know of a decent tank...? JG - Are you selling the lines now complete....? how much are the filters? Matt, think I'll go for the sytec filter :)

That's the same filter that's standard on my car. Changed the whole lot when I serviced it rather than just the element. Good job as I broke the old one having a look in it haha. Good bit of sand in there!

Would the return line from the engine be better off going to the fuel tank to help prevent warming up the fuel in the swirl tank?

I think you can fit it where all the exige racers but theirs and where the n2 car has its pot.

But, i'm not sure you need a Swirl pot. No one has yet explained to me why a swirl pot has any advantage over a high pressure pump in a tank which is properly baffled? Sling, all the supercharged cars are using sytec/walboro pumps. thats a sytec filter.

Fse make some of the worst quality aftermarket pumps and pressure regs (for above 5psi applications) on the planet :lol: Bosch all the way. Jjjjjjjjjjj opb or whatever are googleable :P A correctly gated, baffled and potted tank would be the best option but it's not exactly an easy job, nor cheap compared to chucking this kinda setup on.

the proalloy tank is a little over 500quid and it has fixed my starvation issues. ideally you'd do both for a little redundancy.

It's amazing just how hot the fuel gets.

I drove to Vocky's to change the float for the fuel level sender. By the time we got to it the car had been sat for about 45mins and while you could hold your hand in there but it was pretty uncomfortable. Can imagine it gets proper hot on a TD.
Is there such a thing as a charge cooler for fuel system?

I don't think it's fuel related You will not get fuel starvation when you have a full tank jimmy Get the pro alloy tank the same as me which then has a return pipe which comes from the fuel rail and a outlet that goes to a Bosch 044 pump and then straight into the fuel rail No messing around plus it's lighter

A swirl pot is something I should have done a long time ago

This one looks ideal as it's loaded with AN6 fittings already. A bit big though.
