ive just spoken to jon and he tells me there is a new fuel pump coming to replace the standard tank one which supplies nearly double the fuel the 044 does at the same bar but he has to check to see if its a straight swap.

might be of interest to you.

Double the fueldelivery of a Bosch 044 pump? That's a bit overkill...

If it is of any interest, our race cars dont have swirl pots and we dont have any fuel surge issues. All of the cars we run have bag tanks (74L capacity) and just run from an internal pump, through the pressure regulator (3 Bar, with a return to the tank), to the rail, and back to the regulator. Keeping in mind our cars use around 1L/min and lateral forces are much higher than you will ever achieve in a car without proper aero I dont really see the need for a swirl pot. Some of the cars we sell do not have the bag tank, and run just a baffled ally tank with the same setup I mentioned above and as far as I am aware they only suffer from surge at very low fuel levels.

So.... Filters, talk to me...? :D 30 Micron and 100 micron, which is which...? Can I just use two 30 micron filters...? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item256fdb4f4e

Just raise this one again doing dome work and I have one of these filters I was going to put after the 044 pump I use is 30Micron ok?

The nobles all use these with the paper elements. Paper ones are 8 microns. http://www.demon-twe...low-fuel-filter There are cheaper places to buy them though.

It is of great interest Rob, one correct pump in the tank combined with a decent baffle system is all you need.

Everything else in completely unnecessary, it just adds complexity, costs a lot of dosh, adds weight, increases the risks of leakage, increases the possibility of pysical damage, has the potential to overheat the fuel and increases the load on the electrical system which actually costs you HP.

Cannot think of a good reason unless you consider it looks good? in which case fit it anyway but don't use it!

you'd need something like this with the bosch one though.

thanks J G if I had the money I would go for one of the proalloy tanks with 044 pumps installed complete with baffles but since I have a swirl pot installed I thought I would protect the engine a bit more incase of pump failure. one thing I want to check is the size of the outlet hole from the swirl pot to the 044 as Peter at one point said I might be down on fuel pressure. I have checked the setup with a tester and it's ok just wondering under heavy load this might be a restriction.

Just checked the swirl pot outlet to the 044 pump and it is 6mm ID sound enough?
