Lowered for looks ? Done it. Can't really say it made any difference to the track handling to be honest.
Would add this tho; how low did Cliffie run Lightning Mcqueen...effing low!! It went like stink.

Not really to do with ride height though. More about solid damping, strong springs and uber camber.

If you talk the Simon at CF you will find on our cars there is actually a handling benefit of raising the ride height.

I'm not planning to go ultra low just enough to compensate for 16/17 wheels

Yes, but are you interested in spending £1000+ to do it? Or would a set of Gaz Golds at £550 do the job? What's your budget?

I've spoken to hoffmans and he's going to build them to his spec for me just want a good fast road setup with the possibility of maybe a couple of track days in the future

I would honestly just go with Gaz nickels if looks are your priority. They are also a capable shock.

This. Throw in a pair of EP lower front damper mounts for good measure. The combination should get you as low on the front as properly set-up set of adjustable height coilover suspension.

:yeahthat: If you plan on doing a fair few trackays, investment in a set of 1 way nitrons could be justified, but the Gaz Golds are a perfectly capable shock for road and track use, though there has been some question over reliability on the old version. GeorgeBC has had issues.
Expensive business changing suspension so defo consider carefully.
Chris generally likes to set up the vx 120r 110f ride heights, which looks sporty but not ultra low.

Just want to get rid of the huge gap in the arches what you get from changing to 16/17 combo but don't want it ultra low so speed bumps become a problem so I guess 120r 110f will be ok for me

110 is low! 115/125 more likely I'd have thought!!! The std ride height is 140 and thats on a 17" rim so your going to see a big difference! :)

Id buy the mk2 GGP if i were you. They are cheap as chips and the car handles very well on them.
