Not sure what you mean Aimy?

There are 7 fixings and all 7 will require spacers - just use a longer bolt when you re-fit with the spacer.

With the sides just drill the base of the trim into the clam and use a black headed bolt to secure it, don't try to fix to diffuser as when spaced it won't reach thumbsup

I don't fit the rear fittings, they don't really add to the rigidity and they make removing the diffuser a much longer task. so i only fit the 5 on the rear clam. If you do fit the rear 2 they will need to be thicker than the 5.

I found it a 'must' that when you re-fit the diffuser to put some 'liquid metal / tigerseal' ect on the bars that hold the 'C' clips to to bond them to the clam, then when you come to re-fit in future the bolts just push in rather than trying to hold the bars through the wheel arch! :) All my spacers are 2 x 7.5mm except the centre one under the exhaust which is 3 x 7.5mm - the diffuser sits perfectly straight in line with the ground then thumbsup

i double side tape the main bar in place for the same reason. Aimy, my TAT is spaced by less than 1mm (a single washer)

What am I missing here, why does there need to be spacers? My TAT screws to the chassis in two places and then there are several screws into the clam. Is this an anti rattle solution?

The aim and function of a rear difusser is to get air out from under the car and reduce the ballooning effect as it exits the underside and gets whipped up the rear clam. This ballooning effect gives rear lift which is best avoided. I have lowered mine to flatten the bottom of the car and increase the gap from the diffuser edge to rear panel and I guess (coz I aint got a wind tunnel) this reduces that ballooning effect. For me it aint about looks, it's all about aero performance.

Why are these difussers not made correctly in the first place, ie. incorperating spacers? And if they need this spacing of which people talk why is this not supplied with the difusser? These items are sold as being correct.................. have the designers/sellers not fully understood something? Why is there a need to modify an item which is sold as fit for purpose? Do they even work? And if so.....proven, from what speed..............be honest. Korkey
