So it looks like I've got a cracked oil pressure sensor as there was a nice little puddle of oil on the drive this morning (I've become used to these little puddles now  ) and after some investigation once the oil had warmed up, I found it dripping from the actual plug socket itself on the sensor, not the join. So my question is, can I drive the car if I can find a bolt to fit in the sensor socket whilst I get a replacement sensor? The dash light will be on obviously and I have a seperate oil pressure gauge in the car to keep an eye on pressure. I just wondered if the ECU would limit the engine or put it in to limp home mode if the sensor was disconnected. Im popping to Vauxhall at lunch to see if they have one which im betting they wont.....

Yes, OP sensors really are a waste of time, when it comes on it's too late. ECU won't be bothered by OP. If drivers really care about the state of their engines they fit a high pressure switch which activates at 20odd psi, not the 3 or 4 of the original.

Does anyone know the thread type on the oil cooler adapter? Gives me a fighting chance to find a bolt whilst I wait for a new part to come in

Really interested in this also - is it just a case of changing the OE sensor for a differently calibrated one?

Just getting a new oil pressure switch for my Europa - Vauxhall price £7.50 ish, Lotus price £3.50. Same switch! I recommend checking a Europa parts list before ordering any Vauxhall carryover parts. ;)
