I think he believes he's makng a massive statement about not wearing clothes. Does he think we are all about to change our minds? He was in solitary confinement in Perth for 6 YEARS! left prison and was arested naked again...and again...he turned up at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court naked and pleaded not guilty...he'll be remanded until trial.

IMHO Isn't it just flashing? Its sordid and unecessary. He's clearly flouting the law for the sake of his own views. I've no issues with nakedness. God knows when drunk I've done the odd street run in the skud but we know its wrong.

It also seems a little pervy.

Leaving aside the fact that this guy is a loon for one moment... My understanding is that there is nothing illegal about nudity, but flashing is illegal. So if you're sunbathing naked in your own garden then that's fine but if you're exposing yourself out of the window to passers by, that's illegal. So if this guy can demonstrate that he was just enjoying being naked on his own and other people just happened to show up, then that's fine...

Ok to clarify I didn't actually read the article and hadn't realised he had walked past a childrens play area - for the record I would like to state that I find that abhorrent and wrong.

It's fairly obvious in this case that this guy is doing it for a reaction, and therefore that is (as I understand it) illegal. I was rather flippantly playing devil's advocate and stating that you are legally entitled to go naked rambling. Of course if he is refusing to put clothes on, then that is also illegal as it has been demonstrated to him that he is causing offence and not acting on it.

Someone joked that he should be locked up under the mental health act but it does sound like he could use some kind of help.

I have no understanding of legal matters so this would be purely my take on it but the difference between nude sunbathing at home and naked rambling would be the act of being naked/exposing yourself in a public place. Hats off to him for persevering with the lands end-john o groats if it had a statement behind it but 90% of the arrests/convictions seem to be completely the opposite and as said only for a reaction.
