Jules, thinking about it I think you're spot on.

I'm pretty sure i'm not far off the mark.

Too many statements made over many websites makes it relatively easy to join up the 'dot's' for me

Speak English Doc

If somebody say's its good (but not qualified to make that statement)
then only to say its not good

Then both statements and the author can not to be held with any regard

It may well be that tesco have asked for this dis-association from a discredited organisation

I refer the honourable gentleman to the statement I gave some moments ago

some may say
he is a lying bastard who has been caught out
he has decided to refute/dedine original endorsement

but in my opinion

I doubt tesco are THAT bothered otherwise they would have issued a statement to restore confidence

On a slight aside. I'm in Germany at the moment And have just put some E10 super in my MG ZT (with very old mustang V8 in it) should I be worried?

I believe the reasons are fuel related and not toys out of pram over sponsorship which ended a long time ago.

And that ^ is the genius of the Thorney machine. Hook. Line. Sinker.

[no offence intended]

been using the fuel regularly for a year and a half and my engine hasn't melted yet. I don't see why you'd make a statement like that if you didn't have facts (not opinions) to back it up. And if you publish facts can it ever be considered libel?

Not from me though, totally un-offended however I am intelligent enough to not fall hook line and sinker for the "Thorney machine" as you call it and can make my own informed opinion.

I resent that... Not as much as the lass who when trimming mine yesterday asked me if I wanted to sport the Jeremy Beadle or Noel Edmands look...

It was/is/still is about warranty claims isn't it?

TMS tuning centres cars go bang...somebody is to blame.

Vauxhall don't want to know, as they 'trust' TMS to tune them (after all TMS do their tuning in their garages)

TMS don't want to pay for all the broken cars, so who else is in the equation*?

*Somebody with an open cheque book for Lawyers in such circumstances. And you don't sponsor somebody who is suing you do you?

All of the above is IMO btw ;)

To add a footnote to this and I am by no means agreeing or not agreeing with Jule's views but...

...If TMS now tell TMS customers not to use Momentum in their mapped cars would that mean that customers still using Momentum would not be covered by the TMS/Vauxhall warranty?

If so, the announcement makes perfect sense.

But the announcement does not make sence, it states,

Thorney Motorsport no longer endorses Tesco Momentum 99 fuel nor recommends its use by its customers.
Further announcements are anticipated

Nothing there says your warrantee is void if you do? Or that there is a specific problem.

If it did indeed affect the TMS warranty, how would TMS prove that you had used Momentum 99 ?

Because usually, with the type of people who get remaps, they will use whatever fuel the 'mapper'* tells them to.

So tesco profits are going to be really down this year, as the fat doodah is food shopping elsewhere. ;)
