So I was off last week and the laser cutter hadn't done the hinges for my coupe top. I was faced with either clean the house (pffft) or do some tinkerage. So made these:

Finally got to grips with weave patterns etc so have achieved a techie proof finish. They are 1.3mm thick on the main with a 3mm thick flange (fnnarr Flange). I'm not a fan of the ultra glassy look so these were made with no gelcoat but have been lacquered. just need a final cut and polish. Oh, and some inserts (must phone autovaux).

I also wasn't quite happy with the finish of the first set of dash plates I made so I tried again...

only this small disturbance in the weave...

Again, just a cut and polish to go.

Nice work mate and wish i knew how to make stuff out of CF as my vx would be built on the stuff. Did you ever copy the design of the arch cut outs for bigger wheels at the front and if so would you sell a set?

Yup, sure did. You want to borrow the mould?

Yeah. I'd thought about that. Need to get a good working one in glass first.

I never had a set to copy or I would have done them. Not sure its cost effective though as the plastic ones are rather cheap.

Mate is it possible to knock up a set of rear arch spats? Is that what they're called? The black plastic bits on the rear arch. Would love a set of those in carbon as currently plan to wrap mine.

Thought it through and it might be pricey. Buying spares to mould from, moulding costs and then production costs. It'd be expensive.

I'm sure if there's enough interest and somebody wanted to organise a group it's worth contacting these guys http://streamlinecarbon.com/v2/ if i can get enough interest I'm using them for the carbon mirrors think there would be interested in a few things depending what peoples wants are

Yeah, the value is in multiples. One offs cost a lot! I did these for myself so there's a little motivation and no labour costs.

Lovely work. B) I am drunk. So I'd like a CF windscreen. Do you think this would affect my insurance premium?
