I have a VX220 Registration KY02 NWM and the paint code on the door shut informs me it is 2LU which is British Racing Green. I think is came from Baylis Vauxhall? This vehicle is a "green metallic" not a solid. I was informed at the time that this car was painted at the factory as a special for a show. Any help with with the colour would help as this cars requires some paint work doing to it.

Any photos? It seems strange it would have one paint code on it and actually be something else. Has it had a custom respray?

Could it be one of the 29 Le Mans/Rio Verde/Lethane Green Effect - 4FU - F1357 cars? That has a pearlesant finish and looks like this -

The full spectrum of colours with pics of various cars in the colours can be found here. Click on the square coloured boxes at the top to show some cars in each colour. http://www.lotuscars...6/rbf/index.php

Hi, sorry to bring back an old thread but I own this car now.

Was looking for some help as it has been vandalised and needs paint.

Could you give your expert opinion what this colour is;

Looks like a few different colours to me unless its just the light hitting it?

It is green with a metallic fleck in the lacquer that catches the sun. Not sure if it is Le Mans green. Initially though it was BRG but that is a sold and it is definitely metallic!

Yeah it does look darker to Le Mans green. Personally I'd take it somewhere like Chris Gregory (harrogate) who has one of those guns that's pics the colour up, he mixes his his own colours, he's done a lot if work in tvr's Etc

There is something so right about le mans green :wub: Definatly looks way to dark to be that. Any history to suggest a respray?

Could be BRG with a custom metallic clear coat Which would not be o e m but probably looks nice Might be best to find a good body shop or paint supplier that have the kit to scan the colour

The sun definitely brings out the metallic.

Paint job is factory, I've checked every crevice. The previous owner mentioned a factory special in the original post at the start of the thread so you might be right gasman BRG with a metallic clear coat!

Your car looks luuuush btw!

Thanks for tips guys, never knew those paint scanners existed -I'll take it to an expert. If I can't find anyone more local I'll try your Harrogate trip and divert from my A1 commute!

Enjoy the sunshiiiiine!

Good result! :) I presume it's not a standard colour on the Vx?

Most of the metallic /pearlesent  paint came from Dupont used on the VXs and Lotus models
