My brothers got a s/c s2000 420hp and can confirm its very quick! Very slightly quicker than my Vx at the top end but low to mid range my Vx is quicker and no doubt quicker down the twisty's I personally wouldn't want a standard a s2000 though,The Vx is a lot easier to drive fast and more fun. I took an s2000 for a test drive before I bought the Vx and just felt flat and not very exciting. They are good cars though and easier to live with than the vx,but different to the Vx IMO

Flat that was my first thoughts Ainy, but you have to be on the rev limiter all the time.

Sounds very basic, but I am looking for an open top car that is not mainstream...thats about it! If an NA VX and an S2000 have about same performance and are roughly same price, I would go for the S2000. There were supercharging options for the Zed, but it was a lot of cash, looking at £5k for the parts before install.

You can supercharge for a lot less and in most cases insurance does not go too mad. Richmond would be fine. Maybe Fiveoclock mark can confirm as he lives near there and had a supercharged VX. I am in Canary Wharf with a supercharged if you are ever nearby

Perhaps you turned the page early ;)

Not mainstream? There's quite a few S2000. I'm not trying to sway you either way as I can't comment on a NA Vx only on turbo. But I've been in a s/c s2000 and standard one.If I wanted a convertible for everyday the s2000 would get my vote if I wanted something a bit special I would pick the Vx just my opinion though :) I don't no what an NA Vx would feel like compared to an s2000?

I have probably seen about four or five S2000 out and about over the last week since I have been looking, I wouldn't say thats mainstream when I have probably passed thousands of cars in that time. Yes the VX is rarer, but by no means is the S2000 mainstream in terms of chances of seeing one on the road. I could drive from here to Cornwall and not see one. Still would probably consider the VX Turbo over the NA version, I would be very wary of second hand superchargers you have no idea of the history and could just over blow your engine and thats it.

That's very true. I wouldn't buy a second hand turbo for the same reason.

My brother had a new supercharger kit fitted to his which costs 4800 and dms (Dixon Motorsport) did all the work and Chris (scoff) at efi parts did the mapping

Yeah that's very true...guess it just depends what type of power delivery the op is after?

Both rare vx and s2k. Not your average spot, an I advice you to take a test drive of a vxt then.

99% of Superchargers have been fitted by Joe and Lee or Courneys. You'd be able to find out what the install was like or take someone with you. I bought one done by someone else and it's been mint.
