Just the handle triangles to do!

My car is an early NA, so it only has 4 dash screws, I take it yours had the 2 extra ones? Can't believe the size of the screws also, they're tiny! I was looking for something a lot more substancial

Picture is in my gallery thread

I used a load of separate guides on the forum found using the search but in summary, for my NA, to fit the steering column cover:
- Remove the four screws that hold the top of the surround on. If it lifts off (with a tug) then great (move to point number 4), if not then you'll need to take the steering wheel off (mine needed the wheel taking off unfortunately).
- If you're being careful (recommended as you're effectively playing with an explosive), then disconnect the battery negative (you'll need to take the washer bottle out first), and then wait for about half an hour. Now remove the two 5mm allen bolts that hold the airbag in place (one on each side of the steering wheel). Carefully pull the airbag out, you should have 4-5 inches of slack in the harness for this, don't disconnect the airbag.
- The two remaining screws that are holding the top cover on are located behind the steering wheel, I took the wheel off for this but I read that it can be done by just loosening the wheel: Loosen/ remove the steering wheel by undoing the four 5mm allen bolts. Now balance the wheel & airbag on your knees and undo the two screws that are behind the wheel. Now the top cover can be removed (give it a good tug off).
- Now you can remove the two or three screws that are holding the bottom cover on (whilst still balancing the wheel and airbag on your knees... I'm not sure whether the wheel and airbag can be refitted before the bottom cover comes off or not). Mine only had 2 screws holding the bottom cover on. Now carefully pull it down whilst separating the indicator rubber bits. Be careful though, you still need to remove the connector for the trip reset switch (and I guess central locking for a turbo?). Disconnect the connecter and undo the nut that's holding the trip switch onto the bottom cover. Remove the wire and trip switch and throw the bottom cover over your car in a celebration of getting half way.
- Now it's time to get your new shiny carbon bottom cover on. Reverse step 4.
- Attach the carbon top cover and screw in the top 4 screws so connect it to the bottom cover. Don't bother with the 2 screws that go behind the steering wheel as it'll be easier to remove next time without them in.
- Attach the wheel
- Attach airbag
- Step back and admire!

Oh! Nearly forgot the most important part!
Cover the top of the binnacle with a soft cloth before replacing the dash top, I scratched mine with the back of an air duct! Luckilly it polished out :lol:/>
