Well after weeks and weeks my car finally came back to me today after being resprayed and having the engine mounts done... Can you guys help me diagnose further: Well first thing i noticed was the ABS light being on...could this be a loose connection? Over heating - over 100 degrees...clams have been off so could something have been knocked etc? Something is sliding about in the sill which was replaced...how much of a PITA would it be to get it out...sound big? Came to brake at the end of my road and they dont seem as sharp or responsive...need to pump the pedal? Rear and front light steams up now, one on the front, one on the back...? O and to top it all off i opened the front bonnet and the latch on the lid has sheered off from the fibreglass...can this be fixed or would it need replacing for a new bonnet piece and spraying again...? Its safe to say i want to cry

you can take the rear wheel and arch liner off to get a hand into the sill to see what is rattling around

Possibly, check all the hub connectors. Tug on each wire (mine was loose but looked in place until you tugged).

Over heating - over 100 degrees...clams have been off so could something have been knocked etc?

It's a hot day, and you will see those temperatures if you're stuck in traffic. If the fan doesn't come in at 106 then worry, otherwise 100 deg. C is fine

Something is sliding about in the sill which was replaced...how much of a PITA would it be to get it out...sound big?

It's bonded in place, so that could be difficult. Make sure you're certain it is in the sill, not sliding around under a seat. I'd suggest filling the sill with expandable foam to stop the item from moving around instead of trying to take it apart.

Came to brake at the end of my road and they dont seem as sharp or responsive...need to pump the pedal?

Could just be crap collected on the disks while it's not been used. Try braking hard a few times to remove the crap of them.

Rear and front light steams up now, one on the front, one on the back...?

I'd be surprised if they've done anything to them. It'll clear in the sunlight, if they go back to steaming up then you'll need to seal the gaps with black tiger seal. I suspect if it's been stored somewhere shaded and damp for a while they might have picked up moisture, sunlight will drive that off.

O and to top it all off i opened the front bonnet and the latch on the lid has sheered off from the fibreglass...can this be fixed or would it need replacing for a new bonnet piece and spraying again...?

Very easy to fix fibreglass, bit of P38 should bond it back on.

P40 would be better.

Fresh fluid should improve the brakes if the old stuff has absorbed moisture and gone a bit spongy.

I think it will need to be all or nothing on the fix or you will be doing more harm than good. You could do a quick bodge to get you mobile. Try wrapping a length of string around the brake servo or other suitably beefy component and thread the two ends through the grilles. Close the bonnet, take up the slack and tie securly down. Can't see why that would not work for the few miles you need to drive to your local Halfords to buy some glass fibre paste. Really need to see a photo of how it has come away though to assess the viability of a repair. Chances are it won't be pretty to look at but it will be hidden on the underside anyway.

I would have taken the car straight back to the garage and demanded they fix the problems. Out of interest when your car went in did the garage do a check list of all marks, working cond etc?

Wow you have a few bits to be getting on with there. The abs light is def an electrical fault and prob a wire loose. Best idea to take the wheels off and check for obvious signs of wires pulled from the connector, should be an easy fix with a soldr gun. You have water in the break setup so buy 4.1 fluid and bleed the breaks ( go to a garage for this to save time and hassle) Fibreglass fix can be sorted with filler from any spares shop The sill prob sounds like it could be one of the wedges used to position the sill has come loose. Eh I think you may have to live with this. No easy fix I am afraid other than take the sill off. Enjoy the car these problems only endear you to the car :)

It's most likely to be the captive nut that the lower clam fixing bolt bolts into. Remove the sill cover, do a spot of emergency braking to get it to the front of the sill cavity and stick your hand down there and fish it out.
