Anyone know anything about them?

Quite a few reviews on Seloc currently...following test drives. General consensus is it's not bad but could do with a tad more power...the ride is a tiny bit harsh too. Certainly worth a look in a couple of years.

I've got a test drive of the Toyota version booked on Friday. I love the original idea behind them, though as usual, some of it has been lost during the long gestation period. I really think they're missing 20bhp and 50ft/lbs of torque though, so I won't be taking it any further until they've sorted an uprated version in a year or two.

I've got a test drive of the Toyota version booked on Friday. I love the original idea behind them, though as usual, some of it has been lost during the long gestation period. I really think they're missing 20bhp and 50ft/lbs of torque though, so I won't be taking it any further until they've sorted an uprated version in a year or two.

i think its going to be pretty much perfect as it is.

Remember what you thought about thrashing your NA on track to get it to go as fast as it ever could being more rewarding than that the SC (which i must admit i sort of agree with). This will be that NA again

no idea on boot size.

Yeah but this weighs 300kg more and has similar torque levels to the NA. Certainly don't want some Scooby'esque turbo'd 400bhp with dump valves and fcuk knows what but a sneaky little Rotrex on there would work a treat.

A number of 'tuners' already have aftermarket kits in the works / near ready I believe, but I'd really want a Toyota approved version to maintain the 5 year warranty..

I would like a 'Type-R' equivalent version - lighter, bit more power, shorter gearing, higher-reeving, sharper suspension set-up (it already very focused!)..

Scratch that, less torque than a standard NA. I'm sure that'll be fine on a track somewhere but less so when it comes to a road car and making progress with it. I almost paid £1k to get on the waiting list with local Toyota dealership but as more and more details came out about it, the less excited I was by it.

Absolutely. Wouldn't want anything else on a brand new car.

According to my dealer, there is a more powerful, lighter version coming in the next 18 months. That may well be rubbish and more due to the slightly crestfallen look on his face when I said I wasn't so sure any more.

At the moment they are on a par with hot hatches in terms of general road speed. Yet to see one in the flesh but will be interested to hear your thoughts Matt and James.
