Drove one last week. Great looking, handled well but not very quick (0-60 in 7.5secs). Good value at 25k but useless rear seats has ruled it out for me.

Mate of mine has the GT86 TRD on a 24 hour loan today / tomorrow so went out for an hours pax ride this evening. Only 250 in the UK and no extra power so all you get is a body kit, larger wheels, Yoko sport tyres and a quad ( ) sports exhaust.

Great chassis though and good fun in the twistys. Feels like its on rails. But a boring engine and to be honest the sports exhaust sounded.......well...........dull.
Simply not worth the £31.5k starting price. And the seats were uncomfortable. Felt like I had a bar running across my buttocks!
Some obligatory pics:

WIth all the comments the GT sounds just like one of the first Celica's..the Mustang shape one in the late 70's...all looks, gizzmo's and sounds, ..but lack of real grunt...and driving fun..(lack of smiles for the miles)
..it was my first trip into the sports car world...until a tree jumped out of the hedgerow and decided to re design the backend one day in the wet.

The wife wants a new car and was thinking about one of these. (Actually i wouldn't go brand new. )
Whats the feeling on the Subaru version vs the Toyota? Don't see many, or hear much about the Subaru's.

IIRC Subaru are built in limited numbers at a set ratio to the Toyota. Instead of the 5 year warranty you get 3 years plus free alignment, car washing etc.

I had one for 3 days as a test drive (my company buys about 200 Toyotas a year so they are very obliging!).
It is a cracking car but ultimately a 2 seater and lacks decent performance. Got lots of attention as they are so rare but engine had to be worked hard to deliver very average performance.
