unfortunately the Subaru version (BRZ) looks better but i'd rather drive a toyota.

Not sure it does. There's a couple of bits from each version that look better than the other version but think Toyota got the front end "more right" than Subaru did.

The only external differences IIRC are the front bumper and the badges.. Everything else is the same.. From a back to back review I read on PH, the two cars have slightly different suspension set-ups, but really that means you can have either with a geometry or spring change. I'm a Toyota man, prefer the '86 front end to the BRZ's, so that would be the one for me. With black wheels. The woflrace look-a-likes are awful..

Headlights are different and fog light/indicator treatments are different as well. Biggest killer for me is that the front grille area on the BRZ makes it look like a Peugeot. Just a real shame about the godawful rear wings.

I think most of you are missing the point with the car; it's not supposed to be brutally fast. It's supposed to be enjoyable, the skinny tyres and rear wheel drive make it fun to drive at sensible speeds, and right up to the limit without getting pulled for doing over 100. I'd love to have one, I just wish they'd priced it lower, £25k doesn't look good when the specs are written down.

Might have to have a nosey at a 'real' one as I had a nosey around one of the 'mock-ups' that was circulating the dealerships and was fairly impressed. However I am not sure whether I would happy/sad if it sounded remotely like the usual 4-pot boxer engine.

techie, just read the PH article, if you get the scooby they will clean it for you once a month

with the BRZ, Subaru's three-year ETCo aftercare package is included free - giving you implausible extras such as a free monthly car wash and annual detailing spruce-up, free annual wheel alignment, even free scratch and alloy repair. The inclusivity of the latter (they'll even replace your keys for free if you lose them) swings it for us.

Oooh. I wonder if they'll still do it, if I fit the Toyota front end to it? I did consider cleaning my car of half of France's and most of Bedfordshire's insect population this morning. Then decided I couldn't be arsed. Guess it'll be the annual wash at Le Mans next year again, for me. :beat:

i prefer the front end of the BRZ. the toyota looks like it melted a bit. The DRLs are also better on th BRZ (not that DRLs can ever be a good thing)

I agree, the DRL's are definitely better and more Audi'esque. Just a shame they fitted them within a headlight that doesn't fit in the recess in the bodywork and requires a body coloured filler to make up the difference.

Have one on my drive at the moment - been there since Friday actually - and still haven't got behind the wheel. Think a dawn raid sometime this week might be in order... Know that both of my colleagues loved it, and one who is also Scottish (and therefore by definition rather tight?) said he'd spend his own money on one. Think it's one of a handful of cars to have had this effect on him. Certainly enjoying something of a media-led hype at the moment. Still, i'm more interested in the Toyota that will be replacing it this coming friday; it has a turbo after all! G

Yeah, I know. Blame Evo, not me. Much like the 0-60 of the various VX's, I couldn't care less. :beat:

Does anyone ever do 0-60? :D I usually do 0-30 or 0-40 (not at WoT), or maybe 40-70...

The only place I can think of is when leaving the toll booths on the M6 Toll!

I know. It's a properly stupid benchmark. Really don't know why it still exists and is the only way a layman recognises a car as a fast car.
