Have one on my drive at the moment - been there since Friday actually - and still haven't got behind the wheel. Think a dawn raid sometime this week might be in order...

Know that both of my colleagues loved it, and one who is also Scottish (and therefore by definition rather tight?) said he'd spend his own money on one. Think it's one of a handful of cars to have had this effect on him.

Certainly enjoying something of a media-led hype at the moment. Still, i'm more interested in the Toyota that will be replacing it this coming friday; it has a turbo after all!

G

Which toyota will that be?

I'll give you some clues... It was built between 1995 and 2001 and can seat seven people. It's also a chocolate bar... G

Prize goes to Matt.
Agreed, they're a shitter. But this one's a bit special - think breathed-on Celica GT4 engine. And it was all built by Toyota GB too.

It's awesome if u like drifting. Chris Harris says its excellent on and beyond, even in road driving. It's not built for lap times but fun. When it's creator was asked about ring times he just laughed, whoever asked that didn't get the car. It's got enough power to get it sideways because of the skinny tires. If u want something really fun and drifty it ticks loads of boxes. If u want lap time and performance stats it's not for u. It's over 7s to 60

tyres are very similar to vx rear 215/45/17, i wouldn't call that skinny.

That's plenty skinny enough to make it power oversteer wit 200bhp or so?

The Gt 86 reminds me a bit of the Hyundai Coupe :

DRLs which go round the main beam lense. On the 86 the indicator is in the lower bumper. The GT86 has a strip of 4 led where the BRZ has the indicator.

But it still looks like it borrowed the centre section of the front bumper off a Clio or similar. That black "bar" is awful.

Bastards!!!! between this thread and the one(s) on Seloc about them, I really want one. Seemingly you can get 40mpg with ease from them, boot isnt too small (but odds on it wouldnt take a kiddies bike  ) and maybe after 12 months depreciation might make a sensible buy :s

Old man had one on an extended test drive. Won't stop babbling about how good it was. He drives a Avensis TD day to day, but has had mx5s and tuned saabs in the past.....he was adamant that it goes like sh*t off a shovel. Which is surprising given the press is saying it's only lukewarm.
