I want one too, wish the wife had bought one instead of the S3.

My managers wife is replacing her Alfa Mito with one in blue, should be with them in a week or two. I'm itching to see it!

Just been to see one.... :wub If only I could convince the Mrs that it makes more financial sense than a £1k mx-5 to play about with. The steering wheel is very reminiscent of the VXs... might just have to sneak out tomorrow for a test drive. ;)

Seen two this weekend already, they look better in the flesh than in the pictures. I'd be tempted if I had either the cash or the need for one...

I drove one today. I absolutely loved it. It's a bit gutless at the lower end of the rev range (the GTD is certainly quicker to start off with) but once it sings it goes as fast as you'd want it to and it sound fantastic. Add to that, that is goes sideways for Japan, is extremely comfortable, feels special and looks great in the metal and there isn't anything not to like. every other sentence to Kt at the moment includes GT86 in it. you never know i might persuade her.

Peeps at work saw the advert for it and thought "WTF". I actually quite liked it... shows I am just who they have as "Target Market", only problem is - I am too poor! :(

Seemingly, looking through this thread and write ups elsewhere their target audience is the Elise and MR2 crowd (by design or by accident I am not sure)

Oh... And as typical don't look at US pricing (Scion FR-S) as it will make you cry. :o $24,995 or at current exchange rates = £15,780 for the manual $26,015 for the semi-auto Hmmm... Best have at the Euro prices - to see if Rip-Off Britain is actually the case!

Underwhelmed by my first impressions on the test drive. Didn't get off to a good start when I was late getting there due to some work problems, so the drive was cut well short. Got even worse when I got in the car and found it was an auto as they still hadn't got their manual car, despite telling me they had. In a reverse of what others have said, I didn't like the looks in the metal. Much preferred the photos I'd seen though maybe it was the fact it was Silver that didn't help. Alcantara interior was fine, though the digital clock was a blast from the past - looked like something I had in my first car back in the mid-80's. I wont base the verdict on the car I drove and will wait till I try the manual. But, first impression was it's a bit sluggish. No idea what the performance numbers for the auto are but it's certainly no quick shifting DSG style box, that's for sure. Engine seemed pretty smooth and free revving (much more so than the sh!tty Z22SE) but no inspiring soundtrack with it. I don't care what anyone else says, you definitely notice the lack of ooomph in the mid-range. Like I said, I'll wait until I can try the manual and for a more extended drive (that hopefully won't be mid-rush hour) but as it stands, if I really want to get a RWD ricer, it's more likely that my money would be heading in the direction of the 370Z.

I saw a GT86 yesterday, far better looking in the metal. It's a great looking car.

Drove one at the weekend and my comments pretty much mirror JG's. Really enjoyed it. It's not ohmygod fast but it's quick enough if you rev it. Only issue for me is that the boot, although huge with the seats down, is accessed through quite a small hatch and the rear seats don't have much legroom when i set it up for me driving. Cracking car though - and a 5 year 100k warranty :o

Weird. I've just spent the last 20 minutes looking at the upgrade options from Litchfield Imports for the Toybaru's.
