if it has a german badge on it, people would be all over it. I'll pass on the white seats, but i must admit, i quite like the white paint work, and the wheels (which i think come from the silly body kitted one a few pages back, though this time with out the body kit) 4 seats = thumbsup

Is that an official car, or is it one of those concept things where the roof will never work? It does look tight, behind the seats for a roof and boot and there are no pics with the roof up which is always a bit of a worry.

My thoughts exactly.

It looks really nice though. That size of wheel and ride ride height really suit it, looks great without the spoiler too!

It's officially, currently, a "concept" and it's being shown at Geneva. The GT-86 was allegedly engineered with a convertible in mind, so I'd guess that's probably a long way towards what it'll look like. Though hopefully not with the blue roof that the concept has.....

Super skinny rear seats and no rear headrests/rollover protection? I'm sure once there's a human in the front seat, with real legs, that rear space will all but disappear 911 style.

I saw this in an e-mail from Autocar last week, but couldn't get the bugger to link in my post so I gave up... The cravings have got worse.

It is the only car ever that I have wanted in black. Though I can't decide whether the chrome orange would suit the convertible or not.

If only I hadn't bought a house.

Echo the sentiments above - looks great. Hope it hasn't got too much heavier as the same grunt in a heavier car might kill both what power there was and the tail-happy handling.

According to AutoCar I seem to recall them saying that it is something 20Kg heavier and that the effect on performance meant to not be noticeable.

I think the chassis was designed with the open-top in mind, such that it shouldn't need substantional additional strengthening over the coupe version (perhaps why the coupe is a few kg's heavier than it should be..), therefore, hopefully it will be near as good to drive as the coupe..

Great reading in this thread. I see this as such an important car, if it does well, they will become pretty cheap, and other car companies might well take on board the light-weight(ish), rwd and great handling = fun ethos so we end up with a whole bunch of these things in a few years time. Of course it could go the way of many other fun cars and become rare / good residuals like our VX/Lotus toys.. Personally, I'd quite like them to make one with 4 doors, so it can be a proper sensible car with the fun factor meaning it could become a main car for people like us... Chris
