Hi all, Does anyone have a pic of a silver VX with OEM silver hardtop with silver windscreen surround. I have my windscreen surround vinyl wrapped to match the silver bodywork. Im not sure whether to spray the hardtop or take the vinyl off. Thanks Ben

No worries mate, you can only just see the difference on this pic of mine but when you are standing next to it the difference is quite obvious

Question Ben. Is your hard top closer to grey than silver. I bought one on Tuesday this week and whilst it is silver, it is quite dark and a matt finish with sparkly bits. It doesn't match up to the silver on the car itself. I'm off to drop it in to get it re sprayed so it matches.

From memory isnt the OEM windscreen surround the same grey/silver as the OEM hardtop?

Yes it is. It looks gash. Its sort of a matt finish feel and looks out of place with the rest of the car

haha yeah thats right goose. So should I paint the hardtop to match the rest of the car and vinyl covered surround, or take off the vinyl and have the hardtop and surround matching eachother but not the rest of the car?

I think Ill spray it to match the silver everywhere else. I was hoping for an effect similiar to this (although all silver) but I dont think it will work

Have just taken mine in to be re sprayed to match the rest of the car. I'll keep the black windscreen surround wrap tho. I'll post a pic once it's done (tomorrow hopefully)

Here's a joke for you. I removed the side seal/trim on the hardtop prior to handing it in for the re spray. Anyway, in my usual ham fisted style I managed to put a small tear in the seal. Not catastrophic but enough to irritate me. No problem thought I this stuff must come on a roll, someone will have it. Vauxhall Quote for one of these seals - all 70 of cm of it, un shaped? £105!

Drop jonnyboy a PM. Think he's sourced a cheap place to get these. That's crazy money.

Edit: perhaps I should have read more carefully.
