OK, so anyone doing the M32 conversion will know that the bracket to chassis LH is no longer made by lotus or available anywhere. Ask master Vocky Well I have a VXR engine and 6 speed box currently going into an n/a vx and have come acroos the nightmare of this and as a stroke of pure luck managed to find the last and only bnib mount :D Now as Lotus can no longer provide this mount it is not illegal for me to copy it and make a batch of the bad boys :P Anyone interested in a bracket ;) DG

Any idea of what sort of price Duncan? I still sometimes think I want the M32 until I read another story of grief about them. It's many miles down the list of things to buy though, so if I bought the mount, it would be on the off chance I ever did the conversion.

I'd be interested as I plan to do this conversion in the future.

well its in the post and will not know until having a proper look at it and then the choices of what to make it from. Expect £100 would cover it tbh I am also having to rework a few things for this conversion as its not a buy off the shelf items under budget limits and may look to see which bits could be further produced to make the conversion cheaper in the future. Certainly a lot of the bits can be reused for the m32 conversion anyway DG

If it's only going to be a single run I'd be interested so I can stick it in the garage in case I decide to go down that route at a later stage. Been tempted by it but not really looked into pro/cons

Do these have a slot mount on one end? The reason I ask is because if its a slot you could use an OE one as a pattern and cast from that. There's about 1% shrinkage in somethink like LM25 which will be more than adequate and it will cost you a lot less to produce.

No reason why it could not be cast with the right strenght added or machine it from billet. But until it turns up and get some measurments of thickness of steel etc I can not do any comparisons. Of course cost may dictate what I use and will review how far off the n/a / turbo oe box mount. The other option could be to make a new adaptor plate that is bolted to the box itself. Will know by the end of the week and try to cost it up. Plenty of jobs to finish off before playing too much with new brackets :D DG

As a matter of interest, is the part the same shape/hight etc regardless of whether it is for an NA or VXT - surely the engine positions will be slightly different ?

Not measured or needed to in the past Nev but as I have a turbo and n/a in will confirm. Guess you could review the part numbers, certainly the engine side is very diff between turbo and n/a As the only 2 n/a's I have ever taken to bits have never returned to an n/a :D one has the vag in and the other has the vxr conversion on standalone lol DG
