Look at the quality materials and engineering, awesome
Nice pics Ken, still flexible in your later years
I know, a cardboard one would have been about as good!

A cable tie round it to pull it tighter together and its been fine since
Keep thinking about doing that, but was worried I might restrict it and make it come off again. Struggled to understand what was going on while upside down...
I must have spent best part of an hour upside down trying to get it back on after the garage called me asking how to open the bonnet having 'broken' the latch (probably less, but felt like it). Got claustrophobic and got out. Tried again a couple of hours later and just got lucky and got in place in 2 minutes.
What sort of an idiot designed...

Idiot design, what like the wheel arch liner clips or the heater box or the oil filter housing and so on.Its on a cable
we can put it any place easy to get at,how about on the side panel, hang on shall we hide it for a laugh then
make it so it pulls apart easy.

Mine came out as the garage pulled it the other way and it came out. I decided to try to put it back and was upside down in the drivers seat footwell when I slipped right into the footwell. At this point I hurried to re attach the release lever and managed to do so. By this point all the blood had rushed to my head and I tried to get out of the car.........big mistake...I was stuck fast. A few beeps on the horn to alert my wife came to no avail. After approx 20 mins I thought I was not going to survive this! The steering wheel was on my chest and every way I turned I couldn't get out. Eventually after tremendous pain to my ribs I managed to wriggle free. Turns out I had cracked my rib. After I confronted my wife who was in the kitchen I asked if she had heard me beeping the horn and she said yes of course dear...I thought you were beeping at the neighbours!!! Anyway after calming down and a few weeks rest I can look at the funny side. Lesson learnt and a tip for anyone trying to attempt it. Remove the roof first and put some cushioning in the footwell like a duvet or something similar. Also tell someone what you are doing. If I hadn't wriggled free I would still be there now!!,
Set up a video camera next time

Wow! Loving this forum!
I stuck up a request, and popped out to Halfords (to fix the battery in the Multipla. Bit of a shock to the system, a diesel Multipla is a *slightly* different driving experience!) and when I came back there were 16 replies! And photos!
When it stops raining, I'll stick myself in there upside down and have a butchers. At least I know what I'm aiming at now!
thanks!
Graham
Good luck...you booked the physio?
