x2 pin 12 green/pink go to 86
.5 brown goes from 85-87
large brown goes from 87 out
brown/pink goes from 30 to x2 pin 1

the k16 fuel pump relay seems to be wired as z22se diagram and pins on x2 agree

^^ is that from Engine relay K18??

According to the 2,2 diagram:

x2 pin 12 green/pink go to 85
.5 brown goes from 86-30 (30 brown 3mm +12V)
brown 2mm goes from 87A out
brown/pink goes from 87 to x2 pin 1

doesn't make sense, on the relay it has 87B not 87A, can't believe they made that many changes to the wiring

No, it doesn't because I just checked my relay. Has 87B and wiring is different...

Wait a second [grabs pen and paper..]

I can bring my VX down Nick and we can compare, if Exmantaa doesn't come up with the solution now.....

OK, on my yellow VX: x2 pin 12 green/pink go to 86 (did not check the X2 connection) .5 brown goes from 85-87 large brown goes from 87 out large brown goes from 87B out brown/pink goes from 30 to x2 pin 1 So same as yours It's wired up different, but funtion stays the same; green wire is switched to ground by ecu and that triggers the relay which powers up the fuel pump circuit to the cut-off switch. After cut-off it's to the pump relais K16...

my concern is when i removed the extra relay I left the green/pink wire isolated because I didn't see the other end which had beed cut well back in the loom tape. I then tried the car and I am concerned I may have done some damage somewhere, ecu? as it is now when you turn the ignition on you get the normal lights but the the lcd display goes blank after a few seconds

Green wire is just switched to mass by the ecu, so can not harm your engine. (Or you should short circuit it with a +12v feed, but that will probably blow a fuse.)

The Stack goes blank and the fuel pump is not priming. Nick has an in tank as well as an 044 and swirl pot.

Better use a multimeter then to see what is doing what...

It told us nothing. There's definitely something electrically weird happening.

The Stack goes blank

For some reason that sounds like earthing.
Good luck hunting it down.

Sounds like you're "priming" the Stack and after a few seconds it goes out. Like the fuel pump.

green/pink is the OV supply from ecu to power the relay coil on K18, so if not connected the relay would just do nothing - which appears to be what is still happening

The green/pink should be a switched ground from the ecu. (through X2-12)
Result is the same with the relay not switching, but easy to check with a multimeter and shortcut to a ground to test the K18 relay function.

FP relay K16 should receive a +12v power signal from the ecu through X2-8, white/violet wire.
