New new one in August last year was £900... sure £1600 wasn't for the pair?

European prices are much higher than UK prices.

Most places try and quote you for a 'kit'.  This includes the lamp, bracket, nut, washer and that big rear shield bit.  The foam part around the rear shield is 44 quid alone!

The £900 did not include the "kit" just the lamp unit, although it's not even on my car

I'm just as keen as all the others as long as they keep the OEM look. Looking forward for some designs.

must admit I do prefer the S2 lights construction

I think most VX lights would look fresher with new covers and a refurb of the internals adjustments

I reckon if I needed a new clam and head lights I'd get jonnyboy to graft in the mounts for the s3 Elise headlights. They look close enough to graft in.

The construction isn't far off the VX. The light units are the same.

I'll have an update soon. I have had a large setback by getting a mould that was unsuitable. Going to spend the Christmas break getting everything sorted my end so I can start production in the new year.

Hello from basque country! First of all sorry for my poor english level. I'm very interested in that xenon headlights and I'm sure that many spanish speedster owners are also interested. Fezzasus, how will be the washers design? Exterior fixed jets or integrated and removable?

With the dawn of a new year comes a renewed vigour, plus my lights look blooming awful so i'd best make sure mine look better.

To illustrate just the size of the task at hand, this is a normal 90mm Hella high beam unit with side light.

Posted Image

This is the one fitted to the VX220 headlamp assembly

Posted Image

They have identical part codes, and left the Hella factory as the same design. However Wipac were contracted by Vauxhall to lathe off the four mounting lugs (you can see where they used to be from the orange spray pattern), cast a new metal mounting cradle, and cut the connector for the side light down to size.

I don't intend to do any of these things, the projector units will be held in place with a metal cradle rather than on plastic legs from the casing, and the plastic unit will form a shroud. This is how most headlights are assembled, with the VX220 being a (relatively flimsy) exception.

How many Duncan's to go?

one, the same as it's always been ;)

In other words, just like DG used to say, it'll be done in two weeks. Just that those two weeks kept being extended until it was finally done ;)
