well for starters I can't use UK headlights as they won't pass MOT, must be EU ones, and I would need them as soon as the winter is over and I get MOT time, can't answer that now as I have to fix a few things on the car before taking it to MOT. so it's a couple of months until that.

I thought the swedisch speedster community was quite big.

No one can lend you their set for a few days over there?

well not everyone is into borrow but yes there might be someone, I would not even need them for a few days, couple of hours if everything goes well at MOT... but I don't think it's the biggest problem for me atm, I have other things that needs to be done before thinking of the headlights :D

We can probably work something out Gilgamesh when the car is ready for MOT.

My NS light fittings have fallen apart inside :(

I have managed to take the lens off so far and am about to measure up to take a dremel to the inner casing in an attempt to JUST get access to the bits that need

glueing...  hopefully.

Mind you, nothing to lose since they wont pass an MOT right now !!

Still happening, still not going to give timings because I don't want people dependant on them. You'll know when they're ready because i'll be listing my headlights before they drop in price ;)

Not even any teaser mock ups / CAD designs / sketches on the back of a beer mat?

Thats not fezza's style.  He does or does not, no try!  He's the kind of guy that will be working away and will post it up when its all done and ready to go rather than post progress pics for months.  Best to let him get on with it and just shout encouragement every now and then.

Exactly, I don't want to promise anything until I can deliver. This is much more complex than anything else i've produced for the VX as it doesn't allow for modifications to small batch productions as the heater did, and has much more complexity than the lenses.

I will provide details as part of the crowd funding, which will include photos ect. I intend to be running prototype headlights as soon as my VX is back on the road.

Do these need some kind of type approval as a whole unit? Or is that covered by the internal projectors being approved.  I'm just thinking about the mounting of the projector (which I'm sure will be fine, but...) and how anal car regs are these days...

All the bulb modules (not calling them projectors because only the dipped beam module is a projector) are type approved. Only thing I need to do is provide mountings that allow them to be positioned correctly (sounds almost simple).

That does sound simple.... Why is it taking so long ;)

In all seriousness though just checking as it may be something to think of.  If the mounting is deemed "unsuitable" then the bulb modules' E marking may be irrelevant.

The mounting is purely the positioning of the units, for example at the rear the fog lights need to be 10 cm from brake lights to avoid confusion. The positioning at the front is relatively simple, especially as there aren't significant changes from the original design (in terms of location)

As ever Tom, you are doing an amazing job and I can't wait to own the finished article. Where will you be posting up the thread on the crowd funding? I don't get the chance to be on the site much these days :( but don't want to miss signing up for the units. (I take it you still have my lenses safe and sound) :)
