Really not there yet but it's good to know there's enough interest to carry on. Will keep everyone updated. If there are any more thoughts I'd love to hear them

Oh god please! lol i Hate the VX's lights with a passion, they're built so badly! i'm amazed at the crap electrics, cheap platics and just generally bad construction of them. Vauxhall charging £600 for a new one is ludicrous! :o I'd definitely buy a set! But as people have said. i'd want them to look the same but be made well with good connectors and Xenons. I'd be willing to pay more than £200 a light if they were a real improvement.

But why would GM produce a document saying aftermarket headlights are legal if they don't make the headlights or establish the law? This will be via the transport authority.

An upgrade (turbo look) I would be very interested in. I am not so worried about legality as I can always swap back in my old ones.

Hi, I am also interested. I am sure that a lot of other german speedster owners would highly appreciate such a project. Headlights become more and more an issue..

https://docs.google....FthkdoLDMdqnv3w Read page two of that. Basically its not easy at all to do this within the law. Im not sure I would even try to. Also all hid kits are illegal full stop. I guess most of you knew that.

It's not a HID kit though, it will use approved Hella xenon units, so will come approved out of the box, all I will be doing is specifying the casing required to mount the hella units.

I wasnt saying that it was a kit, jusy making people aware that hot melting a hid bilb in the back of their headlight isnt ideal or legal. If you are using a hella unit things look a lot brighter. ;-)

I'd be interested in remakes of the standard lights. Not too interested in xenons.

Like everyone else I'm very interested! It sounds like the price of the new design will: - compete quite favourably with the price of a decent second hand set; - will be of higher quality; - will be brand spanking new and shiny! It's a no brainer!!! As others have said, the issue of headlight supply is a serious serious one for all vx / speedster owners. Furthermore, having a switchable unit for LHD / RHD will save pi55ing about with stupid bits of sticky tape on your headlights that do nothing at all except reduce your night time illumination! I'm pretty convinced many people would buy these in order to upgrade their lights now and keep their original set in the loft! Just in case I wasn't clear enough, COUNT ME IN! Have you thought about a supply chain for these yet? Would you be dealing with this side of it or could it be left to the manufacturer? It would be nice to have as few 'links' in the chain as possible in order to keep the price realistic! Thanks for putting the effort in! thumbsup R

I'm interested, headlights and associated MOT failure are a potential big bill looming. I even have a set of smashed up lights which I scavenge for spares.

Interested, but like most they must look like OEM. Price's mentioned at the moment certainly seem reasonable. G
