Also, will the wiring have to be altered by the installer if the main beam and flash are now different bulbs?

What about alignment?

Projectors are fully adjustable (vertical, horizontal and rotational), lights will be broadly aligned when posted but final adjustment may be needed on the car.

And will replacement xenon bulbs be easy to get hold of and replace for example is it a sealed unit? I'm sure you've thought of all these things but I just want to make sure.

They're standard D1S bulbs and replacement will be as easy/difficult (delete as appropriate) as current units.

No. It's plug and play.

Awesome, I'm right hand drive, I'm in but I'm not sure if I want gloss or matt black. Will let you know when ordering. What paint will you use, is it good enough take the heat as I've seen peoples lights bubble big time when they've painted the inside.

A prepeg glass fiber instead of carbon (same tools to produce it I think) could not be possible to make a cheaper matt black version ?

Price difference is very small as most of the cost comes from labour (specifically, the complexities of forming this shape).

Finally sat down with all my supplier costings to put together total cost and final purchase price.

Headlight details:

- price is for a pair of front headlights, fully assembled

- available as both RHD and LHD. No price difference.

- Full one piece carbon fibre enclosure (available gloss or matt black)

- Headlamps as follows;

+ 3 inch Bi-xenon projector providing dipped beam and non-flash main beam (however can also be configured for H7 halogen if needed)

+ 90 mm halogen main beam unit with sidelight (same as OEM), providing main beam (including flash)

+ same as original indicator unit

Cost

£1300, £650 upfront cost, £650 payable prior to delivery

Production time

approximately 6 weeks, however this is small volume production at a carbon fibre site supplying motorsport, so rate depends on other work. At the moment the production time will be quick (summer shut down for F1 teams), however once into October it'll be very difficult to get any production time.

So.. who's in?

Forgot to mention, I am looking for a minimum of 10 confirmed orders for the first batch. volumes can go above 10.

1. Oggster - RHD, CF, lenses crowdfunded.

2. Mattias - LHD, CF.

3. Wizzard8 - LHD, CF

4. Gaffer1986 - RHD, paint TBD

No firm date, however if timing slips too far then CF production will become difficult (2017 F1 car production means no excess capacity from mid September/October).

1. Oggster - RHD, CF, lenses crowdfunded.

2. Mattias - LHD, CF.

3. Wizzard8 - LHD, CF

4. Gaffer1986 - RHD, paint TBD

5. Borkedlightning - RHD, CF

Put me down for a set but won't know how it will be paid till insurance all goes through. Assume the carbon will put up with UAV over time?

OK, I understand ;)

Same price with H7 halogen ?

I've made a post on the french forum, there's certainly interested people over there. Do you have a shipping cost for france ?

I maybe able to decrease the price slightly but it won't be much, these headlights were designed for xenon units and can be downgraded to halogen.

I'll need to look into shipping. Pure freight costs will be ~£20, however insurance will add approximately £60 to that (so total £80), however I suspect with some research I can reduce that.
