They'll be with you before May.

Right now i can supply the left hand side. I'm waiting for the rear enclosures to be completed for the right hand side.

I'm not taking any orders yet. I need to get the first batch out before getting distracted

Alright, thanks for the heads up! I'll keep them eyes peeled then. I suppose there aren't more first batch pairs available?

I guess this means they'll be shipping soon, if not already! Tom will you be shipping them pre-levelled as such or will we have to adjust the alignment? However, I won't be fitting mine before the Hoon for obvious reasons! I'll do a decent comparison as soon as I get my hands on them though!

Definitely keen on seeing the final product. Fez, do you think the second batch can make it before August ? Not wanting to distract you !

Bixenon is way more powerful.

Yeah, that's the overwhelming factor, it doesn't matter if you go for halogen or LED as the bixenon main beam is significantly stronger. It comes down to how it looks.

Out of curiosity, what's the power rating and lumen rating of those LEDs ?

Last I heard from Tom was that the expected delivery date is the middle of the year. I'm taking that to be the beginning of July.

Are you on the lucky list of first wave ? If so I will be keen on your feedback. The question about the power rating was just to evaluate how things got handled... cause usually full beam LED units have some fan of some sort at the back. Which in my experience is a just another potential failure source, albeit a costly one ! I suspected the LED unit here was derived from a 90mm fog light base, just wanted to make sure, really.

Cheers though !

the LED high beam is now a supplemental unit as the main beam is now a bixenon unit. This means that the dipped beam also handled high beam when the dipped beams are on, leaving the LED unit only handling flash situations in daylight. As a result it's relatively low power (but as you can see from the previous photos, it's comparable to the halogen unit found in the original lamps)

Another update.

Rear covers are in full production but rate is around 1 per day, i'm assembling units as they go and sequencing them from most similar to prototype (gloss carbon, LED main beam) to least (different paint options, halogen units). I've made a number of changes to the production units from the prototype units which include (but are not limited to):

- use of standard sized grommets to cover adjustments where possible (now 20mm blind grommets as used on socket back boxes - should mean anyone can source spares at low cost)

- uprated wiring for xenon unit

- addition of anchor mount on xenon unit to prevent vibration on rough surface

Sounds good, I think upgraded wiring is good because HID conversions consistently fry the wires when used enough. Does that mean I'm last as I want black and silver?
