I have been waiting a long time too...
I admire the british quietness, here in France we start a national strike for less than that ! ;)

We know. We have to suffer your bloody ATC strikes every Easter. You should be made to compensate everyone who has a ruined holiday/trip because of the ATC strikes.

I totally agree of course, it was a joke !

About this project it is regrettable that it lasted so long because other guys who could have done it did not. Everybody was waiting and now we still have no solution...

And that’s the issue in a nut shell.
These could have been developed a lot quicker but because Tom has been paid by many people, they are holding on instead of asking a manufacturer to build something.

I hope Tom comes good on these, but almost 8yrs on?!
Time to offer refunds so those that need them can buy elsewhere? Or finally deliver?

I have been following this topic with interest. Personally having met Tom a few years ago when I bought one of his heaters, and then subsequently having a coolant leak, I can say that he went well out of his way to sort the problem, even driving from Oxford to the south coast to sort the issue out. My gut feel is he is a very decent chap.
I would like some replacement headlights myself but fortunately haven't parted with any cash. I think really it is time that there was a truthful explanation. Maybe something genuinely has happened beyond Tom's control? Who knows. Personally I would still like some reasonably priced headlamps and if they do appear then I would trust Tom and part with my cash

Hello again

I appreciate everyone is frustrated. I am too. I did not anticipate this taking as long as it has to get a product that I would be happy putting into the market place.

I am now in a position to start shipping them out, starting from next week. Not all of them are ready at once, but will this will start what will become a relatively quick and predictable delivery rate.

Lee, I am surprised you have felt the need to contribute so much on a subject that you are not invested in. Time and again I have pointed out that the start of this thread does not line up with the comment to manufacture. Regrettably it has been about four years since I did commit to production and I am in complete agreement that this is not a satisfactory time.

The reality is I have been able to supply these for about six months, and in face did ship my first set four months ago. Shortly after I broke my hand, nose, teeth and had a stay in hospital. This made assembly close to impossible for the remainder of 2019.

I hope the next few weeks will give everyone involved the confidence that these will be delivered.

There are some changes which I will update in due course. The initial few sets will not follow this sequence as I have assembled one of each configuration. Once they have been completed (need to attach revised rear cover). The rest should follow that sequence where possible

Tom,

I am properly biting my tongue here has an administrator of the forum.
If you were not known to the community, you’d have been called names, hunted with pitchforks and we would have been asked to investigate.

As it is, you have held money for YEARS without delivering.
The many excuses are always accepted, glossed over and yet as you even say after 4yrs nothing is delivered? Would you be happy as a customer?

I'm glad you're already recovered.
Will it be possible to make the final payment through paypal?

Before Jon Seal came along to make a business of keeping our cars on the road (how's your VX going btw? Oh yeah, that's right, you don't own one..) Tom was the only one that's got off his backside to try and make bits for them. The heater, the lenses etc.

This isn't his day job, he is a talented 'hobbyist'. Does he take on too much? Yes, probably, but this project is his most ambitious and has clearly had some major issues, not to mention personal issues for Tom himself.

Should/could he offer money back to those who won't/can't wait? Maybe, but where else are they going to get lights as good as Tom's will almost certainly be?

The only person who is giving him grief is you and, as Tom says, you're not even buying a set.

So how about you let Tom's customers complain to him if they want to, but (unless someone has asked an administrator to intervene?) otherwise carry on biting your tongue?
