As others have pointed out, the LED units are just too expensive, especially compared to xenon units which still have a greater range.

It's not obvious from the photo I put up but the new projectors have a 3" diameter rather than 2.5", this means better light distribution. It's also a cheaper option than the OEM size as it's more common.

Any idea when these will be on the market? I'm desperate for a front drivers light as I can't pass an MOT with the bulb flopping about as it is now.

Not in time for you i'm afraid. PM Bargi - I know he had similar issues.

If you're feeling ambitious, you can crack open the back and epoxy the lens back in place. I would suggest lowest temp in the oven for 15 minutes, then put a flat blade screw driver between the two plastic sections to prize apart. It will probably take more than one go heating it up.

Still looking a bit pikey because it's using an old enclosure as a template (i'm working out the new projector and ancillaries mounting points).

But this is a headlight with a 3" bosch projector in, excited yet?

I'll get it wired up and working over the weekend to give you an idea of light output vs standard (and standard with Xenon). Just keep buying heaters, otherwise i'm not going to be able to afford to do this!

You'll have no idea how much of an understatement that is until you see the final offering ;)

And the finished article. If the heaters are anything to go by these will be cracking bits of kit. Interested to see light output differences as well.

I'm hoping for a estimate soon too. I need new lenses and was going to get some from GFORCE's group buy, but if fez can do a whole light for a similar price then it'd be a far better option.

I'm quite excited about this :) The time and effort you put into these projects is amazing! If I had half the practical knowledge you have I'd be happy
