Guess you will need a full 3" exhaust system to properly make use of one of these, as a 2.5" won't cut it..

Swirl pot for fuel as joes upgraded pump didn't cut it on the RR map. Or get a 68L PA tank and bigger pump but that's ££££. I still think 2.5 would be fine. Maybe loose the cat for a silencer but for high end figures you might loose power. Thing is there's not many out there who've done this conversion. We need people to find out.

Does it not also need the head porting as you hit a limit of flow?

All the stage 3 engines I've built were designed are ready for a Harrop ;)

not really no, it can be quite expensive in parts though if you do it properly. see Jimmy's thread.

I was thinking of getting an SC conversion for mine next year (Jo and Lee). Would it make sense to consider this instead ? How much extra wonga are we looking at all in. I use mine as a daily, so it would need to be reliable easy, to drive etc.

A harrup SC would be no less / more reliable than any SC conversion. But it would have a lot of headroom for extra torque , whereas most are running the Eaton M62 flat-out , or even beyond its efficiency zone
